Description
The 1950 Roosevelt Dime is a dime produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. The U.S. Mint produced 50.1 million examples, making this the highest mintage among 3 variants, accounting for 43% of the year's production. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. First year of official proof sets at the San Francisco Mint; Roosevelt Dime proofs begin. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $7 to $24 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 2.5 grams, 17.9 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
