Description

Unlike a standard doubled die created from a single misaligned hubbing, this 1943 Walking Liberty Half Dollar WHO-002 originated from a doubled working hub — meaning the hub itself carried the doubling before it was used to create multiple working dies across several mints. Strong spread appears on IN GOD WE TRUST, the lower gown, three center rays of the sun, the curl in the flag, and the date with an apparent 3 over 3 repunching. Because the doubling resides in the working hub rather than an individual die, multiple dies at different facilities reproduce the same doubled features.
