Description
The 1941-M Philippine Twenty Centavos was struck at the Manila Mint and carries an M mint mark on the reverse, to the left of the date. From 1937 the twenty centavos kept Figueroa's obverse and the 4-gram, 75 percent silver standard of 1907. The reverse carries the arms of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, designed by Ambrosio Morales; the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the date and the mint letter run around them. The recorded mintage is 1,500,000. These were the last twenty centavos from the Manila Mint, which stopped coining when Japan invaded the islands. Catalogue numbers: KM-182. PCGS number 90333.
