Description
The 1936 Boone Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Classic Silver Commemoratives (1892-1954) series. With a mintage of 12,012, this is a scarce issue. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, each authorized by an individual act of Congress, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by Augustus Lukeman. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9266. Classic Silver Commemoratives (1892-1954) were half dollars and occasional other denominations struck to honor people, places, and events in American history.
