About This Coin
The 1935 Philippine Ten Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series — a late issue, 20th of 25 years in the series. In 1935, coins were struck at the M Mint. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Struck during the Great Depression, when mintages dropped sharply and the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1933. Struck in silver. A notable auction result reached $960 in MS66 grade at Stack's Bowers. Designed by Melecio Figueroa.
