BaseAbout This Coin
The 1935 Commemorative Die Trials is a United States coin from the Die Trials, Hub Trials, and Splashers 1792-1982 series — a late issue, 38th of 39 years in the series. The obverse features test impressions from coin dies, ranging from fully detailed to partial impressions and the reverse displays test impressions that may be blank, partial, or paired with unrelated dies (mules). Struck during the Great Depression, when mintages dropped sharply and the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1933. A notable auction result reached $22K in MS65 grade at Heritage Auctions. Designed by Various Mint engravers.
