Description

First cataloged doubled die reverse for the 1929 Buffalo Nickel, this variety exhibits a strong offset spread on E PLURIBUS UNUM with light spread toward the center on OF AMERICA. The strong offset spread on the motto represents visually significant displacement where the secondary hub impression created clearly separated extra lettering. The lighter spread on OF AMERICA indicates the hub shift's effect diminished across the die face, with elements closer to the center showing less separation. Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-086 with die marker reference DMR-002. Die stages A, B, and C are documented but remain unconfirmed.
