Description
The 1926 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent is a cent produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. The U.S. Mint produced 28.0 million examples, making this ranked 2nd of 3 mint variants by mintage, with 15% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right, the first real person depicted on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays two wheat stalks framing ONE CENT, symbolizing American agriculture. Minted during and after World War I, as America emerged as a global power and experienced the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $2 to $207 depending on grade and condition.
