The 1925 Indian Head Quarter Eagle is a United States Gold Quarter Eagle from the Indian Head Quarter Eagles 1908-1929 series — 9th of 13 years in the series. In 1925, coins were struck at the Denver Mint with a combined mintage of 578,000. This ranks 8th of 13 years by total mintage, above the series median of 565,057. The obverse features a Native American chief wearing a feathered headdress, designed in incuse (sunken) relief — a revolutionary departure from traditional raised relief coinage and the reverse displays a standing eagle on a bundle of arrows with an olive branch. After a decade-long gap (1916-1924), quarter eagle production resumed at Philadelphia with a large mintage. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 4.18 grams, 18 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Across its variants, estimated values range from $866 to $1.2K depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $66K in AU58 grade at Heritage Auctions.
