Description
The 1922 Grant, with Star Half Dollar is a special strike commemorative half dollar. The Philadelphia Mint's net mintage of Grant half dollars with the star dated 1922 was 4,256. Issued in 1922 to honor the centennial of the birth of Ulysses S. The obverse features a bust of Ulysses S. Grant facing right in military uniform, while the reverse displays Grant's birthplace log cabin in Point Pleasant, Ohio. Designed by Laura Gardin Fraser. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, 30.6 mm in diameter. Cataloged as PCGS #89307. The plain coin had a net mintage of 67,405.
