Description
The 1921 Philippine Ten Centavos is part of the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series. When the value of silver rose, the act of June 23, 1906 lowered the weight and fineness of the Philippine silver coins: from 1907 the ten centavos weighs 30.864 grains (2 grams) of .750 silver and is smaller across. Philadelphia struck the 1907 coins and the 1908 proofs, San Francisco the coins of 1907-1919 with an S, and the Manila Mint those of 1920 and 1921 without a mint mark and of 1929 and 1935 with an M. This coin was struck at the Manila Mint, which used no mint mark until 1925. Greysheet's listing and the Krause catalogue both record 3,863,038 pieces. Catalogue numbers: KM-169. PCGS number 90261.
