Description
The 1903 (S) Philippine Ten Centavos is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Auction record: $6,462 � MS65 � 04-10-2014 � Heritage Auctions.
