Description
The 1914 (S) Indian Head Eagle is a Gold Eagle produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series. With a mintage of 208,000, this is a less common issue — ranked 2nd of 3 mint variants by mintage, with 30% of production. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco production. The 1914-D is a common Denver issue. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $2.6K to $7.4K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge.
