Description
The 1914 (D) Indian Head Eagle is a Gold Eagle produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series. With a mintage of 343,500, this is a less common issue — the highest mintage among 3 variants, accounting for 49% of the year's production. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco production. The 1914-D is a common Denver issue. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $2.6K to $3.1K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge.
