Description
The 1913 (S) Philippine Twenty Centavos S/S Allen-11.09a is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Twenty Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Auction record: $5,160 MS66 04-26-2020 Heritage Auctions.
