The 1909 Philippine Ten Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Ten Centavos 1903-1945 series — 7th of 25 years in the series. In 1909, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
