Description
Part of the Philippines Twenty Centavos 1903-1945 series, the 1907 (S) Philippine Twenty Centavos is a twenty centavos coin from the San Francisco Mint. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. The San Francisco Mint, a Gold Rush-era institution, now specializes in proof and collector coinage. Auction record: $5,280 MS65+ 04-25-2021 Heritage Auctions.
