The 1907 Proof Double Eagle Pattern - J-1778/1907, Sans Serif Edge is a proof double eagle pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Design Reform Patterns (1880-1942) series. It is the Ultra High Relief with the edge lettering of the 1906 double eagle, E*P*L*U*R*I*B*U*S*U*N*U*M*, reading with the obverse up; three are believed struck, and USPatterns.com accounts for two. It is struck in gold with a lettered edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-8. The 8th edition of Judd renumbered it J-1907. It is also catalogued as Pollock-2001 and Adams-Woodin 1741. Cataloged as PCGS #81954.
