=1898-P VAM-2B Closed 9, Retained Cud NITED= Discovered June 2006. 2B III22 · C3a (Closed 9, Retained Cud NITED) (190) Reverse C3a– Die crack from rim above N thru tops of ITE and up to rim above D with slightly displaced and tilted field. Small die chip between I & T. DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # LDS specimens will exhibit a thickening of the break coming off of the top right of the E and die breaks beginning to form where the break meets the denticles in addition to a noticeable increase in the size of the IT die chip. # Plate photo is of LDS specimen. # The 1898-P VAM-2 and the 1898-P VAM-2B were struck with the exact same pair of dies. 1898-P VAM-2A, 1898-P VAM-2C, 1898-P VAM-2D & 1898-P VAM-2E were not.
