=1898-O VAM-14 Very Near Date, Doubled First 8= Discovered by Louis Davis, March 1978. 14 III2 9 - C3b (Very Near Date, Doubled First 8) (181) Obverse III2 9 - Date set very near with first 8 doubled slightly on bottom right outside of lower loop and second 8 doubled slightly at top and right inside of upper loop and top inside and bottom right outside of lower loop. Die Markers - Thread impression between upper cotton leaves. Small chip inside L in LIBERTY on lower right serif. Reverse C3b - III O mint mark set at the edge of high position. DPIS - RH2/LH4 ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Same obverse as 1898-O VAM-2. # The exact same pair of dies was used to produce both the 1898-O VAM-14 & 1898-O VAM-14A.
