=1897-S VAM-5 Doubled 1= Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. 5 III2 4 - C3a (Doubled 1) (187) Obverse III2 4 - 1 doubled slightly at bottom of upper crossbar. DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # This obverse shared with VAM-5, 1897-S VAM-5A, 1897-S VAM-6 & 1897-S VAM-6A. # The 1897-S VAM-5 and the 1897-S VAM-5A are both the exact same die pair. the difference between them is a clashing and (at least in most cases) a repolishing of the reverse die.
