1892-O VAM-5 Doubled 2, Ear, O/O Top, Very Near Date, Overlapping Reeding Discovered by Maurice Dubreuil, February 1975. This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM. Some specimens show machine or strike doubling of top of date digits and some right stars. Ear strongly doubled on right out outside of large lobe and on left and right inside. Date set much further left than normal. '''Reverse C3c–''' Medium III O mint mark set high and tilted slightly to left with doubling at top left outside. '''Edge--''' Reeding on edge is overlapping for about 8 segments at two locations 180° apart varying from 3 and 9 o’clock to 6 and 12 o’clock. Well struck high-grade examples show a doubled profile & slight tripling on the 92 of the date. The doubled ear of 1892-O has been terribly elusive for many collectors. It is occasional seen in VF up to XF. If you find one of these in AU or higher, snatch it up.
