1888-O VAM-1G
ErrorDescription
1888-O VAM-1G Crumbled Reverse Letters Discovered August 2009 by Jason Henrichsen. Eliminated - ALL are VAM-31 This coin is a WOW! Morgan VAM. 1G III2 1 - C3a (Crumbled Reverse Letters) (181) Reverse C3a -- Die chips around letters of TED STATES OF AMER, In God We Trust, and top edges of wings. Comments: Leroy Van Allen commented that while the VAM-1G "has normal obverse and reverse dies", the reverse has "severe die chips wear" around edges of upper legend & motto, and wings tops. Van Allen went on to remark, "Mint used reverse die too long!". See VAM-31 as well. VAM 31 and 1G are the same marriage. They share identical date positions and both have the tell tale threadlike impression at the top of the ear - vampicker.
