Description
1885-O VAM-4 Doubled 18 Discovered by George Mallis, June 1965. 4 III2 4 - C3a (Doubled 18) (181) Obverse III2 4- Bottom crossbar of 1 doubled at top and appears as a short spike on the left and a slight bulge to the right of the stem. Inside lower loop of first 8 doubled at bottom and left DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This variety has doubling in the bottom loop of the 8, & at the bottom of the one it has a very faint base just above the real base. It usually also has machine doubling on AMER of AMERICA.
