The 1875 Twenty Cent Patterns page groups the twenty-cent patterns dated 1875 in the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series, the year Congress authorized the coin, all struck at the Philadelphia Mint. William Barber made three obverses for them: the Sailor Head (J-1392 to J-1395), Liberty at the Seashore (J-1396 to J-1406) and a Seated Liberty with LIBERTY incuse on the shield (J-1407 to J-1413), struck in silver, copper, aluminum, nickel and white metal with several reverses. J-1414 and J-1415 are copper and aluminum strikings from the regular dies for the off-metal sets sold to collectors.
