The 1873 Proof Quarter Pattern - J-1270 is a proof quarter pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series. It was struck from the regular 1873 quarter dies. USPatterns.com regards the 1873 copper and aluminum strikings from regular dies as pieces made for sale to collectors in complete sets, cent through double eagle.
