Description
Aluminum with a reeded edge, J-910 translates the three-star cap Liberty Head and regular-issue eagle reverse into the lightest available metal. The aluminum version of this hybrid die marriage produces a particularly jarring sensory experience: the reverse eagle and IN GOD WE TRUST motto signal an authentic United States quarter, yet the coin weighs barely a quarter of what a genuine silver quarter should. The reeded edge adds the familiar tactile element of production coinage, making the weight discrepancy even more noticeable when this piece is handled alongside silver examples from the same die pair. Cataloged as PCGS #61154.
