Description
Aluminum with a reeded edge, J-904 translates the single-star headband Liberty Head and STANDARD wreath reverse into the ultralight metal that makes this piece feel almost insubstantial in hand. The single-star headband design maintains its visual appeal in aluminum, with the bright metallic surface providing good contrast between the frosted portrait devices and the mirrored fields typical of proof production. Among the aluminum quarter patterns, J-904 benefits from being part of one of the more commonly struck design groups, though individual aluminum survivors remain scarce due to the metal's vulnerability to environmental damage. Cataloged as PCGS #61148.
