Description
Introducing the fourth obverse design, J-894 features a Liberty Head wearing a plain diadem inscribed LIBERTY without the star ornamentation seen on J-888's cap, with her hair gathered in a loose bun at the back. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA circles the bust while IN GOD WE TRUST appears on a scroll below. The reverse retains the STANDARD agricultural wreath around 25 CENTS. Struck in silver with a reeded edge, this design is known to exist on both thick and thin planchets, with thick specimens weighing approximately 84.3 grains and thin examples around 77 grains, documenting Linderman's active experimentation with planchet weight standards alongside alloy composition.
