Description
Rendering the Coronet Liberty Head quarter eagle design in aluminum, J-1027 transforms a gold coin known for its dense compactness into an impossibly light object. The quarter eagle was already the smallest regular gold denomination in terms of physical size, and aluminum's roughly one-fifth the density of gold made this pattern feel almost insubstantial. Despite the exotic composition, the dies reproduce the familiar Coronet head and eagle motifs with remarkable fidelity, demonstrating aluminum's capacity for capturing fine numismatic detail even on a planchet designed for a much heavier metal.
