Description

Judd-438, Pollock-509, is the fifth and final 1865 proof dollar motto pattern, concluding the denomination's three-year, twelve-variety contribution to the IN GOD WE TRUST development program. This last dollar pattern represents the most refined version of the motto design, incorporating all lessons learned since the first dollar motto experiments in 1863. The Seated Liberty With Motto dollar entered production in 1866 and continued through 1873.
