Description

Judd-383, Pollock-454, completes the 1864 proof dime With Motto series. This third and final variety represents the most refined 1864 version of the motto dime. Combined with the 1863 series, a total of approximately thirty distinct dime pattern varieties were produced across two years — by far the most extensively studied denomination in the motto development program. The adopted 1866 With Motto dime reflects the cumulative wisdom gained from this exceptional body of experimental work.
