Description
This white metal piece with the Oregon Exchange Company ten-dollar design is listed by PCGS as a restrike of 10.89 grams. Later strikings with the Oregon Exchange Company designs exist in gold, rolled gold, copper and white metal; PCGS lists them as restrikes, and NGC lists white metal pieces of both values, one of them counterstamped WOODS MUSEUM. The sources read for this page do not say who made them or from which dies; the Smithsonian notes that the original dies are held by the Oregon Historical Society (search). NGC lists a white metal ten-dollar piece under Kagin's number for the coin, K-2. Catalogue numbers: K-2 (white metal). PCGS number 507069.
