Description
This entry covers early NGC-certified examples of the 1838 Gobrecht dollar pattern restrike struck in copper, encapsulated before NGC routinely designated specific Judd numbers. Copper restrikes of the 1838 dollar pattern were produced during the restrike campaigns of the late 1850s and 1860s, using the original Gobrecht dies featuring the Seated Liberty obverse and Flying Eagle reverse. The 38.1mm diameter and reeded edge match the silver versions. Collectors should refer to the individual Judd-numbered entries for specific die alignment details and population estimates.
