Description
The 1829 Classic Head Half Cent - Cohen 1 is a special strike cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Classic Head Half Cents 1809-1836 series. The U.S. Mint produced 487,000 examples. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a fillet or headband inscribed LIBERTY, while the reverse displays a wreath enclosing HALF CENT. Designed by John Reich. Struck in copper, weighing 5.44 grams, 23.5 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #518080. The Classic Head Half Cent was produced intermittently from 1809 to 1836.
