Description
The 1829 Classic Head Half Cent, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, is part of the Classic Head Half Cents 1809-1836 collection. The Mint reported 487,000 half cents for 1829, a calendar-year figure that can include coins with other dates. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a fillet or headband inscribed LIBERTY and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing HALF CENT. The series would end in 1836. Struck in copper, weighing 5.44 grams, 23.5 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #1153.
