The 1795 Liberty Cap Right Half Cent - Lettered Edge, No Pole is part of the Liberty Cap Right Half Cents 1794-1797 series. The Mint's figure for 1795 half cents is 139,690, all varieties together; how many are lettered-edge No Pole coins is not recorded. That is a count of coins dated 1795: the Mint's own report gives 142,534 for 1793-1795 together and 115,480 for calendar 1796. The obverse features Liberty facing right with a Phrygian cap on a pole behind her head, while the reverse displays a wreath enclosing HALF CENT and 1/200. Designed by Robert Scot (attributed). Struck in copper, 23.5 mm in diameter. Cataloged as PCGS #914011. The Liberty Cap Right Half Cent was produced from 1794 to 1797, featuring the revised right-facing portrait.
