The 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar is a United States dollar from the Flowing Hair Dollars 1794-1795 series — the final year of the series. In 1795, coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a combined mintage of 336,619. The obverse features Liberty facing right with flowing hair, surrounded by stars and the reverse displays a small, naturalistic eagle perched on a palm branch within a wreath within a wreath. Second and final Flowing Hair Dollar. Much higher mintage (approximately 160,295) makes it the type coin of choice. Multiple die varieties exist. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 27 grams, 40 mm in diameter, with a lettered: hundred cents one dollar or unit edge. Across its variants, estimated values range from $6.3K to $1839K depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $1265K in V CH to GEM UNC grade at Coinhunter.
