The 1795 Cent Patterns is a United States cent from the Early Republic Patterns (1792-1859) series — an early issue, 3rd of 35 years in the series. In 1795, coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features various experimental designs testing different concepts for U.S. coinage and the reverse displays various experimental designs. Produced during the earliest years of the United States Mint, when the young republic was establishing its monetary system and coinage traditions. Struck in copper.
