Description
The 1794 Liberty Cap Cent - Head of 1795, Low Relief represents a Philadelphia Mint issue from the Liberty Cap Cents 1793-1796 series. Every 1794 cent together accounts for the 918,521 mintage; the share struck with the Head of 1795 in low relief is not recorded. The obverse features Liberty facing right with a Phrygian cap on a pole behind her head, symbolizing freedom and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing ONE CENT and 1/100 of a dollar. Robert Scot took over engraving duties. Head of 1793 and Head of 1794 subtypes reflect the design transition. Multiple Sheldon die varieties. Struck in copper, weighing 13.48 grams, 28 mm in diameter, with a lettered: one hundred for a dollar edge. Cataloged as PCGS #1365.
