Description
A Fugio cent with the reverse legend reading "States United" (reversed order) and the distinctive "1 Over Horizontal 1" feature in the fraction. The fraction on Fugio cents reads 1/13, and on this variety the horizontal bar of the fraction is formed from a "1" punch placed sideways, creating the "1 Over Horizontal 1" effect. This is a recognized Newman variety within the States United group.
Rarity Notes
Moderately scarce. The "1 Over Horizontal 1" is a popular die variety.
