Description
A New Haven restrike of the Fugio cent struck in copper, the same metal as the original 1787 issues. Produced circa 1858-1860s from rediscovered or copied dies at New Haven, these restrikes can be distinguished from originals by their sharper strikes, different planchet characteristics, and die states. Copper restrikes are the most common metal among New Haven restrikes.
