Description
The 1720 Twenty Sols is a French silver coin struck at the Paris mint (mint mark A) in 1720. Two silver coins of 20 sols were struck at Paris in 1720: the twenty sols of France and Navarre (one-sixth écu, 1719-1720, at many mints, 4.08 grams of .917 silver) and the livre d'argent of the Compagnie des Indes (1720 only, at Paris only, 3.74 grams of pure silver). Both were engraved by Norbert Roettiers (CoinVarieties). In these years John Law's Compagnie des Indes held the right to coin money at the French mints.
