1946 wheat cent with a retained lamination peeling right off Lincoln's face
Posted by NumisdexDealer· 0 replies

Found this one in a batch of wheat cents I picked up a while back. The retained lamination sits right in front of Lincoln's face - you can see the metal flap lifting off the surface. I put a post-it note behind the peel to show the gap. The crack extends from the retained flap up past IN GOD WE TRUST all the way to the rim. In hand you can feel the edge of the flap with your fingernail. Pretty dramatic for a one-cent coin.
