About This Coin
Reproductions of Massachusetts Oak Tree silver coins — including twopence, sixpence, and shilling denominations — produced by William S. Wyatt of Baltimore during the 1850s and 1860s. Wyatt's copies are among the most accomplished colonial reproductions, struck from carefully engraved dies in both silver and copper. They were sold openly to collectors at a time when genuine Massachusetts silver coins were already rare and expensive. Today, Wyatt copies are collected in their own right and are well-documented in numismatic literature.
