This undated Civil War era store card, cataloged as Fuld 700D-10a, is a copper patriotic edition token issued by H. Dobson of Rhode Island. Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, nonetheless contributed merchants to the Civil War token economy. H. Dobson was a Rhode Island merchant whose token served as emergency currency during the coin shortage that affected all Northern states.
