Description

Copper-nickel (d) marks Fuld NJ-555C-12d, die pair 12 of J. Wightman at Newark, New Jersey; NGC brackets it 1861-65. Town 555 is Newark and C the merchant. A dealer's description of die pair 8 sets Wightman's name opposite Our Country in a wreath. NJ is the state prefix and 12 the die pair. Wightman's copper and brass cards from the same two dies, 12a and 12b, share the 1861-65 bracket from NGC.
