The same Ligonier “Mich.” die pair, number 3, appears in brass as Fuld IN-550G-3b; the b marks brass. J. Pearce is merchant G in Fuld's town 550, Ligonier, Indiana. A dealer describing the copper striking from these dies reads Pearce's drugs, groceries and notions legend with the state given wrongly as Michigan, and a mortar and pestle under Drugs And Medicines. NGC dates the brass card 1861-65.
