This page holds the 5 sols of 1670, the smaller of the two silver Gloriam Regni coins struck at Paris under a decree of February 1670 for the lands of the French West India Company. Long given to New France, they were made for the French West Indies, according to recent study of the French archives, though some reached Canada.
