Description
The 2026 (S) Proof Revolutionary War Quarter is a proof quarter struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Semiquincentennial Circulating Coins 2026 series. The obverse features George Washington, the Continental Army's commander-in-chief, whose strategic vision and unwavering determination proved essential to American victory in the Revolutionary War, while the reverse displays a Continental Army soldier at Valley Forge, capturing one of the most challenging moments of the Revolutionary War when Washington's troops endured a brutal winter with inadequate supplies, clothing, and shelter. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Designed by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $28 depending on grade and condition. Struck in cupro-nickel clad (cu-ni clad over cu core), weighing 5.67 grams, 24.26 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
